DESCRIPTION:For ages 12 to 18 (11 with evaluation)\, no firearm experience necessary but students should be mature and have a respect for firearms. \nCost $200 includes firearms\, ammo\, and lunch on day 4 \nLimit: 10 students \nPreregistration required \nWeeks: June 25th\, July 16th\, Aug 13th  \nRuns Tuesday through Friday 10am – 3pm with ½ hour for lunch\nThe first three days will focus on a specific type of firearm: AR platform\, traditional rifles\, or pistol. Topics will include firearm safety\, shooting fundamentals\, history\, parts\, dry fire and live fire training (.22 cal). Day four will include a tri-gun tournament and a pizza party. \n

SUMMARY:Steel Shoot Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Pending pre-registration and minimum participants (12)\, the Steel Shoot Tournament is making a return!  If minimum registration isn’t met\, event will be postponed. \nWe’ve also got some new safety restrictions in place.  To avoid splashback and ricochet issues\, we’ll be obtaining frangible ammo for the event.  This event will be 9mm only.  Ammo will be provided for participants\, which has necessarily led to an increased entry fee.  Ammo also needs to be special ordered\, making pre-registration mandatory. \nEach match will be best of 3 sets.\nTournament will be single elimination. \nHandguns 9mm\, open/iron sights ONLY–no optics\, lasers\, etc.\, no AR/AK style or similar pistols.  \nStarting position: Firearm on bench\, slide locked to the rear\, magazine(s) on table.  Hands on or near head.  Each set will begin with audible notification–upon notification\, shooters load firearm and begin shooting. \nCourse of Fire: steel targets set on table at 10 yards\, varying sizes/styles.  8 targets on the table\, with 4 for each competitor.  All targets on your side of the table must be knocked down before your opponent does the same.  Targets must be shot from starting at the outer edge of the table.  Shooting your opponents targets will give your opponent an advantage.  Each set will have a maximum of 20 rounds\, for a maximum of 60 rounds per match.  If all rounds from a set are expended and targets remain on the table\, the shooter with fewer remaining targets will be the winner of that set. \nPrize: TBD \nEntry: $50 \nCheck-in begins at 5pm.
